The Use of 4P Method in The Evaluation of Communicative Competency (72 - 77)

Abstract

Students usually encounter problems to tell about a video content that they have watched because of lack of competence and confidence without teacher’s motivation. This research aims to study the effect of guidance in assisting students to speak their ideas in communicative skills. Students have been taught the 4P method, that is, clarification (penjelasan), experience (pengalaman), opinion (pendapat) and instruction (pengajaran) to communicate with confidence the content of the video they watched. This is an action research involving 14 secondary school students in the normal technical stream. The findings showed that are able to obtain good grades after applying the 4P method. They also demonstrate interest and active participation in the learning process. Teachers can provide more space for students to throw their ideas in order to assist them to communicate systematically.
