Abstract

Campus recreational gardens not only serve as landscaping elements that beautify the environment but also play a crucial role in enhancing students' psychological well-being. Agrotherapy, or agriculture-based therapy, is an increasingly recognized approach in university landscape design due to its potential to reduce stress and improve mental health. This study aims to review the literature regarding the role of campus recreational gardens based on agrotherapy and their positive impact on students' psychological well-being. The literature review reveals that urban agricultural elements such as community gardens, therapeutic horticulture, and agroecology-based green spaces offer psychological benefits to students by reducing stress, improving concentration, and enhancing emotional balance. This study recommends that universities consider integrating agrotherapy elements into campus recreational gardens as a strategy to enhance student well-being.
