Mereka menjadi satu gerakan yang dinamik dan tidak tertakluk kepada kerangka politik Melayu tradisional. PKMM dianggap sebagai golongan radikal dalam politik Tanah Melayu. Dengan menggunakan kaedah perpustakaan maklumat berkenaan gerakan kiri dan faktor yang mempengaruhi gerakan kesedaran ini dicerap dari dokumen, buku, akhbar, majalah serta artikel yang berkaitan. Sumber-sumber ini dianalisis untuk menghasilkan artikel ini. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan golongan nasionalis kiri Melayu berjuang untuk membela nasib masyarakat Melayu yang semakin jauh ketinggalan berbanding golongan imigran dan secara terbuka menuntut kemerdekaan. Kesedaran golongan ini banyak dipengaruhi oleh semangat yang dicetuskan oleh negara luar seperti India, Timur Tengah dan juga Indonesia di samping peranan akhbar. Secara ringkasnya pengaruh luar melahirkan kesedaran dalam kalangan masyarakat Melayu bahawa rakyat mempunyai kuasa dalam sistem pemerintahan di tanah air sendiri.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><em>This paper discusses the </em><em>national awareness of the people in Malaya in the post Second World War especially with the emergence of PKMM. Their movement were in the dynamic and which were not the subject to the traditional Malay political framework. They were regarded as radical in Malaya politics. Discussion in this paper are based on library methods by analysing sources such as files, books, newspaper, magazines an article on the topics of study. </em><em>These resources are analyzed to generate this article. </em><em>Suggest that the Malay leftist nationalists were struggling to defend the fate of the backwards Malays compared to the immigrants and openly demanding independence. The awareness of this group was much influenced by the spirit of nationalism that was triggered by foreign countries such as India, the Middle East and Indonesia as well as the role of the press. In external influences created awareness among the Malays community that the people should have the power in the government system which is in their own homeland. </em></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><em>Keywords:</em></strong><em> Awareness, National, Malay Leftist Nationalists</em></p> ER -
