However, there is a lack of exposure with respect to computational thinking in mathematics education in primary schools. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted regarding computational thinking in mathematics education among primary school students to study about the implementation of computational thinking in mathematics education. This systematic literature review was guided using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) protocol. The study used Springer, Scopus, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar databases. Only 20 articles were selected through the screening process of the acceptance and rejection criteria. The results of the study indicated that most of the studies implemented a computer-based or plugged-in activity approach. Next, the more focused geographical area that involves computational thinking in mathematics education for primary school students is the European area. The most widely used research methodology is quantitative research. Computational thinking is widely studied in the context of computational thinking concepts, mathematical thinking concepts, approaches to the application of computational thinking skills, performance, interests or behaviors and computational thinking level assessment techniques.</p> ER -
