Abstract

This study was aimed to identify posture patterns among women who have young children or infants. This study was conducted to study posture especially in women who do not have time to exercise and have young children. The scope of the study was to analyse the postures angles of head, body and leg in women before and after exercise with infants weighing 3kg and 5kg based on the provided exercise videos. This study also compare the differences in posture angles between head, body and leg for 3kg and 5kg infants before and after the exercise. A total of 7 female were involved as subjects in this study. Data obtained was analysed using KINOVEA software for the posture angles of the head, body and leg. These raw data were subsequently analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 16.0.  Results had found that following exercise activity within 4 weeks, there were changes in the posture angles for the head, body and leg of the subject. However, the changes resulted in the data were insignificant (p>0.05). Nevertheless, findings of this study is considered important because it can give exposure to women about the importance of exercise activities in maintaining good posture body and health during taking care of their young children and infants. In conclusion, this study has recommended several exercises that can give positive impact to the posture of the head, body and legs while taking care of the young children and infants simultaneously.
