Abstract

Physical Education plays a crucial role in educating and enhancing students’ psychomotor, affective, and cognitive aspects. Active involvement in physical activities enhance overall health-based physical fitness and boosts scores in the National Physical Fitness Standard Test for Malaysian School Students (SEGAK). This study was conducted to identify the need to develop intervention programme in body warm up sessions during Physical Education learning and facilitation (PdPc) sessions. A survey using a questionnaire was administered on 110 Heads of Physical Education Panels in the state of Pahang, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analysed using descriptive analysis. The results indicate that 95.1% (4.75±.43) agree that a suitable intervention programme during warm up sessions should be developed in Physical Education to enhance students' health-based physical fitness levels and improve SEGAK test scores. The study shows that Physical Education teachers are aware of the importance of PdPc sessions in improving students' health-based physical fitness levels. These findings will aid researcher in developing appropriate intervention programme for warm up sessions in Physical Education without disrupting the overall Physical Education curriculum.
