Improving Form One Student’s Listening Skill Using Edgar Dale’s Cone of Experience

The objective of the study was to identify the level of form one students’ level of listening, identify the reasons why the form one students’ listening skills are not good, and improve form one students’ listening skills using Edgar Dale’s cone of experience. The researcher has carried out the study through mix method by using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study was conducted on selected ten form one students. The researcher has used survey form, pre-test, post-test, and interview to gather data for this study. At the end of the study, it was found that the students’ listening skill was improved using Edgar Dale’s cone of experience. The researcher was able to achieve the objectives of the research. In conclusion, Edgar Dale’s cone of experience can be used by teachers to improve students’ listening skills in any language.

A Study of using Kahoot (QUIZ) to avoid ‘Santhi’errors in writings by form two students

The researcher conducted the study using Kahoot (quiz) to avoid the 'Santhi' error in the writing of the Form 2 student. This study was conducted for high school students in Manjung district. The students subject to this study are Form 2 students. The study is based on two objectives, namely, identifying the problems faced by Form 2 students in the use of ‘Santhi’, avoiding the misconduct of ‘Santhi’ carried out by the form 2 students through use of Kahoot. The researchers used Bloom's taxonomy theory for this study. Students with the highest number of 'Santhi' errors in the mid-year essay section were selected for this study. This study was conducted to educate the students to avoid ‘Santhi’ errors in writing. This study was conducted to educate the students to avoid ‘Santhi’ errors in writing. The researchers used Bloom Anderson's theory for this study. The information contained in this study will help students to avoid ‘Santhi’ errors in writing. Students with the highest number of 'Santhi' errors in the mid-year section of the essay were selected for this study. The researchers have conducted this study in a qualitative and quantitative approach. The data required for the study will be collected with the help of the selected study instrument. The researchers will run this study for seven weeks. The information contained in this study will help students to avoid ‘Santhi’ errors in writing.

Goddess Kali in Malaysian Tamil Folk Songs

This study is to discover about Mother Goddesses in Tamil background, history of Goddess Kali and Goddess Kali in Malaysian Tamil folk songs. Qualitative approaches with narrative and descriptive designs were used for this study. The researcher used multiple sources as journals and books to analyse informations about Goddess Kali. Findings about Goddess Kali from Malaysian Tamil folk songs were described under seven titles.

Improving form two students’ speaking skills through Plotagon Story App

This study was carried out to improve the speaking skills of form two students using the Plotagon story app. The purpose of this study is to find out the level of speaking ability among form two students, find out the problems and improve the speaking ability of form two students through Plotagon Story App. An interview was conducted with the teachers about the problems faced by the students in speaking skills and the problems were identified. The study is based on quantitative and qualitative methode. This study is able to find out the idea that the Plotagon story app can improve the speaking ability of form two students. Speaking skills as defined in the Tamil Language Curriculum were assessed under three important competencies. That is, to speak effectively, to explain, then to comment; to conclude. The attainment level of the students was identified on the basis of three components for each skill. As a result of this study, it was found that the Plotagon Story has changed the horizon of students' speaking skills. The researcher has self-produced five different types of videos using this app to improve the speaking skills of the students. Researcher has made videos of the students in class and talked to them in such a way that improved their speaking skills. This study performed by the researcher suggests that other language teaching teachers can also use this app to improve the speaking skills of students. Also, the speaking skills of students can be improved through other digital animation application.

Improving factual essay writing skills among form four students through ‘JIGSAW’ approach technique

This study was carried out with the topic of ‘JIGSAW' approach to improve essay writing skills among form four students. The objectives of this study is to find out the problem faced in expository essay writing among Form four students and to improve expository essay writing skills among Form four students through 'JIGSAW' approach. This study has been conducted qualitatively. An interview was conducted with teachers about the problems faced by the students about their ability to write factual essays and the problems were identified. This study is able to find out that the method of "JIGSAW" approach can improve the factual essay writing skills among Form Four students.

Study of Lev Vygotsky’s approach will improve students speaking ability in form 2

The researcher has conducted a study on improving speaking skills of form two students through the Lev Vygotsky’s theory. This study was conducted with the objectives to analyze the problems faced by form two students in their speaking abilities and to improve their speaking skills of form two students through Lev Vygotsky’s theory. This study was based on the theory of Lev Vygotsky and the researcher used in a field design. The researcher has conducted this study through a qualitative approach. The researcher has conducted this study in a secondary school in the Perak state. Eighteen students were used for this study. The researcher has used pre-test, post-test and observation to collect the information for his study. Speaking skills can be improved with the information found in this study.

Improving Critical Thinking Skills of form five students through 'Model Inquiry'

The researcher conducted a study on improving critical thinking skills of Form 5 students through 'Model Inquiry'. Students can be encounter with writing difficulties. This study was conducted with two objectives of analyzing the problems faced by Form Five students in their critical thinking. Second objective is improving Critical thinking of form five students through Model Inquiry. Bloom Taxonomy has been used by researcher in this study. The researcher has used fieldwork to conducted this study. The researcher has conducted this study through qualititative and quantitative approach. The researcher has conducted this study in Secondary schools in Alor Gajah District. Two Tamil Teachers and Form Five students were included in this study. The researcher has used pre test, post test and interview to gather information for his study. The information available in this study will help improve critical thinking skills. Through this study it was possible to improve the critical thinking of Form Five students through 'Model Inquiry'.

Enhancing Poetry Recitation Skills of form 4 students by rhythm recording

Kajian ini dijalankan terhadap tajuk peningkatan kemahiran membaca puisi pelajar tingkatan empat melalui kaedah pendaftaran Sirpramanam. Pelajar menghadapi kesukaran dalam kemahiran asas bahasa seperti kemahiran membaca puisi.Kajian ini dijalankan berdasarkan dua objektif iaitu mengenal pasti masalah bacaan puisi dalam kalangan pelajar tingkatan empat dan meningkatkan bacaan puisi dalam kalangan pelajar tingkatan empat melalui pendaftaran.Kajian dilaksanakan pada berdasarkan kes demi kes. Sampel kajian ini ialah 15 orang pelajar Tingkatan empat sebagai kumpulan eksperimen dan 15 orang pelajar sebagai kumpulan kawalan dan guru Bahasa Tamil sekolah tersebut.Juga ujian pra, ujian pasca, temu bual dan pemerhatian dipilih sebagai instrumen kajian. Kajian ini dijalankan berdasarkan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. 3 siri langkah telah dijalankan oleh pengkaji untuk mengetahui kecekapan kaedah pendaftaran. Kesimpulan kajian ini ialah kaedah merakam puisi dapat meningkatkan bacaan puisi pelajar.
