Author Guidelines

Guideline for Authors
EJSMT invites you to explore beyond borders all fields of science, mathematics and technology and its related fields. You may contribute your articles either as a regular paper, short communication or as a review papers. Papers must contain original results, and this journal prohibits an author from submitting the same manuscript for concurrent consideration by two or more publications. It prohibits as well the publication of any manuscript that has already been published either in whole or substantial part elsewhere. We also do not permit publication of manuscript that has been published in Proceedings. The copyright of articles is assigned to the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).

EJSMT Manuscript Format
Types of paper

Types of contributions: Research Papers, Scientific Review Papers, and Short Communications (Letters).
-Research Papers may be of any length (maximum of 6000 words) which has not been published previously and it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere or it will not be published elsewhere in the same form. They should include an abstract of no more than 250 words and should be divided into numbered sections, as described in manuscript format.
-Short Communications (Letters) are short and concise manuscript that are no more than 3000 words in length and should include no more than five figure and tables combined. It is a brief report of original, significant, and timely research results on the EJSMT which warrants rapid publication.
-Review Papers should give an extensive, up to date, state of the art account of a current important research topic with a maximum of 10000 words. The article should be formatted as is a Research Paper but contains a list of contents immediately after the abstract.

Submission checklist
Please refer to the submission checklist before sending the manuscript to the EJSMT for review. Please ensure that the following items are present:
-Articles must be submitted in English only.
-The article submitted should be accompanied with a cover letter that state the novelty and importance of the work and why it is most suitable for the EJSMT.
-Please also provide 4 potential reviewers in order to expedite the review process in the cover letter. Contact details (name, institution, email and field) are helpful.
-EJSMT only tolerate 10% of similarity index for regular research articles and letters meanwhile for review article, it should be less than 15%. Similarity check should be provided along with submitted article.
-Article should be in MS Word, 1.5 spacing with wide margin (2.5 cm) and 12 point type Times New Roman. Paginate consecutively starting with the title page and printed at the top right of the page.

Full-length research articles/letter should be divided into:
Title and Author(s) Affiliation
-Keywords (maximum of 6 keywords)
-Materials and Methods/Methodology
-Results and Discussion
-Acknowledgements and

The TITLE should be concise and informative. Please avoid abbreviations and formulae. Please Center the TITLE and use Times New Roman font with size 14.
Name of AUTHOR(s) and their AFFILIATIONS or address of institution(s) where the work was carried out and contact details of the designated corresponding author (e-mail address) are compulsory.

Abstract should be a proper summary of the conducted work. It must contain a brief summary of the purpose of the research, problem, method/approach, principal results, major conclusions and future/potential application of the work. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. Therefore, references should be avoided, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, and abbreviations should be defined the first time they are used, BOTH in the abstract and in the text. But, never define abbreviations in an abstract and text unless they are used later in the abstract. Please do not exceed 250 words.
KEYWORDS: Please provide related keywords, maximum of 6 keywords.

State the novelty/objectives and/or statement of hypothesis, research problem/or significant of the work and provide an adequate research background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Please provide sufficient detail on research design/methodology in order to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods that already published previously should be indicated by references: only relevant changes/modifications should be described in this section.

Results and discussion should be clear and concise. Please avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.
Please ensure the figures and the tables included in the single file are placed next to the relevant text in the manuscript.
Tables. Tables (refer with: Table 1, Table 2, ...) should be presented as part of the text.
A descriptive title should be placed above each table.
Figures. Figures (refer with: Figure 1, Figure 2, ...) also should be presented as part of the text.
The caption should be self-contained and placed centred below the figure.
Micrographs, etc. must include a scale bar.
Capitalize only the first word of each Figure caption and Table title and bold them.
Equations. Equations (refer with: Eq. 1, Eq. 2, ...) and there should be one line of space above the equation and one line of space below it before the text continues. The equations have to be numbered sequentially, and the number put in parentheses at the right hand edge of the text.

Conclusions should reflect achievements of the authors work and it should be concise and conclusive.

The Funder attribution/Trust’s contributions/agencies must be acknowledged in the publication. The Funding agency (written out in full), grant number (in brackets), multiple grant numbers and agencies (separated by comma and space), should be included in the acknowledgement section.

References format should be consistent for the entire references list.

Important Information:
-Once the paper is accepted for publication in EJSMT, the paper cannot be published elsewhere and we have the right to publish the paper in any materials form.
-Tables/figures/copyrighted material from other sources used from other Publications should get permission from the corresponding publishers to grant them the right to publish the material in their paper.
-Manuscript should be 'grammar and spell checked'. Manuscript should demonstrate excellent level of English language, grammar, punctuation, spelling and overall style of scientific writing.
-Please ensure that all references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa.
-Editorial process Authors are notified on receipt of an article and upon the editorial decision regarding publication.
-Every article will be peer-reviewed by double blind reviewers as well as independent Editor by EJSMT Editorial Members. Decisions regarding the publication of a manuscript will be based on the EJSMT Editorial Board's recommendations. The manuscript will be assessed and evaluated based on its suitability with EJSMT’s aims and scopes, contribution and meet the EJSMT target discipline, valid and reliable experimental design and analysis and good overall manuscript presentation.
