Awareness Level and Environmental Education Practice among Form 4 Science Stream Students in Hulu Selangor District

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of awareness and practice of environmental education among Form 4 science students in Hulu Selangor district. A total of 234 students from the population of 695 Form 4 science stream students in that area has been chosen as respondents through random cluster sampling with a confidence level of 95%. This study used survey as framework in which 45 items of the questionnaire (35 items of environmental education awareness; and 10 items of good practices and environmental responsibility). The data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential method. The study found no significant difference in awareness and practices between male and female students with regards to Environmental Education. The study also found no significant relationship between the awareness and practice of environmental education among Form 4 science stream students.
