Abstract

Cooperative institutions are able to play a role in enhancing community development through the potential of collaboration among communities. Hence, in the agricultural industry cooperative are seen as a driving force for the farmer's economic growth efforts. This research aims to evaluate the roles of cooperative institutions towards its members. A study was carried out on 40 members of Temerloh district's Sustainable Palm Oil Cooperative (KPSM). The results of this study focus on economic contribution in terms of increasing members' income which also includes elements of farm produce improvement, yield market assistance and access to plantation inputs. The findings show that KPSM Temerloh plays a significant role in helping to increase palm oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) production, helping to market the plantation produce and also assisting farmers to access plantation inputs in the process of obtaining good quality FFB.
