Abstract

Perubahan alam sekitar khususnya dalam bidang pendidikan memerlukan pemimpin sekolah memimpin sekolah mereka dengan cara yang lebih inovatif. Gaya kepimpinan sedemikian dipanggil kepimpinan inovatif. Walau bagaimanapun, beberapa pemimpin sekolah di kawasan luar bandar kurang mengambil berat terhadap tuntutan ini. Fenomena ini tentunya mempunyai sebab tersendiri. Justeru, kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka cabaran pemimpin sekolah di luar bandar untuk melaksanakan gaya kepimpinan inovatif. Bagi menjawab objektif kajian, data dikumpul menggunakan kaedah kualitatif yang melibatkan aktiviti temu bual dengan tiga orang pemimpin sekolah di luar bandar. Data temu bual dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis tematik. Dapatan kajian ini melaporkan bahawa terdapat tiga faktor penyumbang utama yang menjadi cabaran kepada penerapan kepimpinan inovatif dalam kalangan pemimpin sekolah di luar bandar: (1) Faktor sekolah, yang mana pemimpin sekolah kurang kemahiran digital dan sikap negatif mereka terhadap perubahan digital, (2) Faktor guru, yang berkaitan dengan beban tugas guru dan ketidakcukupan pengajaran yang menyebabkan guru kurang berfungsi untuk menerapkan faktor kepimpinan yang rendah kepada ibu bapa, dan (3) Faktor kepimpinan murid yang rendah, dan (3) status sosio-ekonomi yang menyebabkan mereka kurang menyokong aktiviti sekolah terutamanya yang berkaitan dengan inovasi. Dapatan kajian ini mampu menyedarkan pihak berkepentingan khususnya pemimpin sekolah, guru dan ibu bapa berhubung kejayaan sesebuah sekolah yang memerlukan kemahiran inovatif dalam kalangan mereka.
