Abstract

Keunikan herba ‘bawing’ serta kemerosotan penglibatan belia, agenda kontemporari negara dan kekurangan model pembangunan modul berhubung sektor pertanian telah mencetus idea penyelidikan. Makalah ini diperkasakan untuk mewacanakan pembangunan modul penanaman, inovasi dan pemasaran sejenis tanaman herba yang sinonim dengan masyarakat di Malaysia Timur khususnya Sabah, iaitu ‘bawing’. Modul berkenaan dibangunkan hasil daripada analisis soal selidik berhubung aspek KASA (Knowledge-Attitude-Skill-Aspiration) yang berakar umbikan tiga domain pembelajaran, iaitu kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor (KAP) serta faktor-faktor yang menyumbang kepada cabaran untuk memupuk budaya pertanian komersial dalam kalangan masyarakat. Pembangunan modul 3-dalam-1 berkenaan adalah relevan dan signifikan kerana ‘bawing’ mempunyai pelbagai manfaat dan nilai komersial yang bukan hanya terbatas kepada aspek gastronomi dan kulinari sahaja. Modul-modul berkenaan boleh diutilisasikan dalam perancangan aktiviti seperti Program Pemindahan Ilmu (KTP), Teaching of Trainers (ToT), Penyelidikan dan Pembangunan (R&D) serta penghasilan produk berasaskan ‘bawing. Bertunjangkan kombinasi serta improvisasi model ADDIE dan SMDM serta analisis SPSS, sebuah model dibina berhubung proses pembangunan modul yang melibatkan empat fasa utama. Model Pembangunan Modul Penanaman, Inovasi dan Pemasaran (MPIP) yang memfokuskan kepada herba ‘bawing’ tersebut sesuai digunakan dalam pembangunan modul yang diilhamkan untuk menilai keberhasilan sesuatu aktiviti KTP atau seumpamanya terutamanya yang mempunyai afiliasi dengan transformasi sosial dan juga pembudayaan pertanian komersial.
