Program Doktor Amalan Profesional (DPP) merupakan suatu pendekatan alternatif dalam pendidikan tinggi yang membolehkan golongan profesional meneruskan pengajian di peringkat kedoktoran tanpa perlu meninggalkan kerjaya mereka. Program ini menggabungkan pembelajaran berasaskan amalan dengan fleksibiliti pembelajaran dalam talian melalui Open and Distance Learning (ODL), dan dibangunkan berdasarkan keperluan industri serta garis panduan Agensi Kelayakan Malaysia (MQA). Teras program ini ialah projek industri berstruktur yang dikenali sebagai Capstone Project, yang menyatukan unsur penyelidikan, refleksi profesional dan impak industri. Kertas ini menghuraikan kepentingan program ini dalam konteks Malaysia, struktur pelaksanaannya, pematuhannya terhadap standard kualiti kebangsaan serta sumbangannya kepada pembangunan modal insan dan inovasi sektor industri.
