Repository Policies

Educatum Journal of Science and Mathematics is an open access journal. Articles published in the journal may be accessed free of charge through the official journal website and/or UPSI Digital Repository, subject to the stated terms and conditions for use, distribution, and archiving.

The “Repository Policy” refers to the policy governing the use, deposit, and online availability of journal articles in institutional repositories, authors’ websites, research funders’ websites, and other approved non-commercial platforms.

The following repository policy applies to articles published in Educatum Journal of Science and Mathematics.

Repository Policy of the Journal

1. Articles Used

Only the publisher’s final published version of the article may be used and deposited in the repository.

The publisher’s final published version refers to the version that has completed peer review, copyediting, formatting, pagination, and official publication by the journal.

The use of the author’s final manuscript, accepted manuscript, submitted manuscript, or pre-peer review version is not permitted unless formal approval has been obtained from the journal or repository administrator.

However, if an advance online publication version is made available before the final published version, that version may be temporarily used. Once the final published version is released, the advance online version must be replaced with the final published version.

2. Permitted Sites

Published articles may be deposited or made available on the following platforms:

  1. UPSI Digital Repository;

  2. institutional repositories operated by universities and non-profit research institutions;

  3. websites of research funding organizations that supported the research;

  4. the author’s personal or academic website; and

  5. non-commercial online thesis or academic archives.

Articles must not be deposited or uploaded to commercial platforms, document-sharing websites, or other services that charge users for access, unless prior written permission has been obtained from the copyright holder or journal management.

3. Terms of Use

When an article is deposited, shared, or made available online, the following information must be clearly indicated:

  1. the name of the author or authors;

  2. the article title;

  3. the journal title;

  4. volume, issue, year, and page number or article number, where applicable;

  5. the DOI or official article URL, where available; and

  6. the copyright holder.

A suitable copyright notice should be included, for example:

“© [Year] Educatum Journal of Science and Mathematics, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris.”

Users may access, download, read, and use the article for personal research, educational, and other non-commercial purposes.

Any reuse of the article must properly acknowledge the original source and must not misrepresent the article, authorship, journal, or publisher.

Commercial use, systematic redistribution, republication, translation, modification, or sale of the article in any format or medium is not permitted without prior written permission from the copyright holder or journal management.

4. Repository Replacement Requirement

If a temporary version of an article is deposited before the final published version is available, the depositor is responsible for replacing it with the final published version once it has been officially published.

The repository administrator may also update, replace, or remove deposited files to ensure that the correct version of record is available.

5. Responsibility

Authors and depositors are responsible for ensuring that deposited articles comply with this repository policy, copyright requirements, publisher conditions, and applicable institutional regulations.

UPSI Digital Repository serves as an online archive and access platform. It does not replace the official journal publication record.

The official version of the article shall remain the version published by Educatum Journal of Science and Mathematics.
