Abstract

The education system at all levels ranging from primary school up to the tertiary level play a very significant role to guarantee the prospect of the country to get innovative human capital in line with current technology. Various philosophies and basic education has been used to enable educators to lead academically better. Nevertheless, the issue is still often heard supposed on the low quality of graduates and do not get jobs in fields that were taken during the study in institutions of higher learning.The selection of specific teaching strategies will help in the completion of the human capita. Strategy Project Based Learning is a learning technique that is both authentic and gives exposure to the real cutting edge world to students. This study was conducted to identify the perception of lecturers in institutions of higher learning to project-based learning in the field of digital art. This method is a qualitative study using in-depth interviews to obtain data. Informants study consists of five lecturers from the university who act as instructors in school-based digital arts such as graphic arts, multimedia and animation. The findings show that the perception of lecturers on project-based learning strategy refers to the product-oriented task, basic skills, student-centered and authentic learning. The result shows that the concept of project-based learning has a close relationship with 21st century skills.
