The Relationship Between The Burden of Duties and Stress Towards Teacher’s Commitment at The Primary School

Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors workload , work stress and its relationship to teachers’ commitment is based on demographic criteria . A total of 207 teachers from six selected schools in the town of Tawau categories took part in this study . The questionnaire consists of four parts, Part A of the demographic, part B is the scale of the burden of teachers , the C scale and the Teacher Work Stress Scale D is teachers’ work commitment . Descriptive methods for this study is the frequency and percent and independent t-test. The inferential statistical methods are independent t-test and Pearson correlation were used to answer the objectives and research questions. The results showed no significant differences in job stress among male and female teacher. While based on teacher service category also showed that there is no difference towards teachers’ commitment. Based on service category factor also no difference in the level of work stress. Similarly, there was no significant relationship between teacher workload scale towards teachers ‘commitment, but on the other hand there is a positive significant relationship between the scale of work stress on a scale of teachers’ commitment.
