Abstract

Kajian ini adalah berkenaan literatur bagi pelaksanaan Kaedah Pendaraban Cepat dalam topik Pendaraban terhadap minat dan tahap pencapaian murid tahun Empat. Kaedah Pendaraban Cepat merupakan satu kaedah yang merangsang murid untuk membuat pengiraan mental. Pengiraan mental bermaksud pengiraan matematik yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan akal fikiran semata-mata, tanpa bantuan alat tulis dan alat mengira, dan tanpa terikat kepada algoritma. Topik Pendaraban merupakan satu topik yang memerlukan banyak pengiraan secara mental. Tambahan pula, topik Pendaraban merupakan satu topik yang sukar untuk dikuasai oleh murid terutamanya apabila melibatkan pendaraban dua digit dengan dua digit. Kaedah Pendaraban Cepat dapat membantu murid untuk membuat pengiraan mental secara cepat. Kajian literatur ini bertujuan untuk melihat pelaksanaan kaedah ini dan untuk menilai impak kepada tahap pencapaian dan minat murid terhadap topik Pendaraban khasnya melibatkan pendaraban dua digit dengan dua digit. Literatur yang terkini menunjukkan bahawa kaedah ini sangat relevan dan signifikan dengan pengiraan secara mental. Oleh itu, guru matematik disarankan melaksanakan kaedah ini sebagai salah satu intervensi kepada masalah topik pendaraban.

This literature study is about the implementation of Fast Multiplication method in Multiplication topic towards the Year Four pupils’ interest and level of achievement. The Fast Multiplication method stimulates pupils to perform mental computation. Mental computation means mathematical calculations that performed using the mind alone, without the help of stationery and counting tools, and without being bound to algorithms. Multiplication topic requires a lot of mental calculation. In addition, the topic is quite difficult for students to master, especially when it involves multiplying two digits with two digits. Fast Multiplication method helps pupils to do fast mental calculations. This literature study aims to look at the implementation of this method and to assess the impact on the level of achievement and interest of pupils on the topic of multiplication especially involving two digits and two digits. Recent literature shows that this method is very relevant and significant for mental calculations. Therefore, mathematics teachers are advised to implement this method as one of the interventions to multiplication topics problem.
