Abstract

This study was conducted to study the usability of Pedagogical Module of Active Learning based on 4Cs Skills in Whole Number and Basic Operations in Mathematics (PA4K Pedagogical Module). This usability study involved two mathematics teachers and 40 of Standard Three primary school pupils. A pre test post test one group pre-experiment study was conducted on the pupils while the teachers were involved in an interview session after the completion of the module implementation. The results of t-test analysis showed that there was a significant improvement in the level of mastery of students for all four 4Cs skills, namely critical thinking (t = -57.475; p <.005), communication (t = -36.462; p <.005), collaboration (t = -27.470; p <.005) and creativity (t = -35.511; p <.005). In fact, the results of teachers interview also support the usability of the PA4K Pedagogical Module. Thus, this study has identified and shown that the PA4K Pedagogical Module has the potential to have a positive impact on the teaching and learning process based on 4Cs skills.
