Abstract

Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) merujuk kepada tindakan seseorang yang menyebabkan kecederaan pada diri sendiri tanpa niat untuk mengakhiri nyawa. Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk meneroka pengalaman dan hubungan kekeluargaan dalam kalangan murid yang melakukan NSSI. Kaedah kajian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif kajian kes. Kajian ini melibatkan kaedah temu bual dengan tujuh orang peserta kajian yang pernah mengalami keinginan untuk melukai diri sendiri. Dalam kajian ini, data analisis menggunakan Model 3C Litchman. Dapatan kajian telah menghasilkan lapan tema utama berkaitan faktor mencederakan diri tanpa niat bunuh diri. Kajian ini juga menemukan bahawa setiap subjek kajian mempunyai cara tersendiri untuk menyelesaikan masalah ketika mereka merasa terfikir untuk melukai diri. Kajian ini sedikit sebanyak dapat menjadikan komuniti yang berada dalam bidang kaunseling khususnya di Malaysia lebih bersedia untuk menghadapi cabaran pada masa akan datang. Kefahaman ini penting bagi kaunselor untuk melaksanakan langkah-langkah pencegahan dan membantu murid sekolah yang berisiko.
