NILAI-NILAI BUDI PEKERTI DALAM KARYA RAJA ALI HAJI

Kajian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai budi pekerti yang terkandung dalam karya-karya Raja Ali Haji (1808—1873). Sehubungan itu, nilai-nilai budi pekerti yang dianalisis dibatasi hanya sepuluh nilai sahaja di antara delapan belas nilai yang dikemukakan oleh Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional, Republik Indonesia (2010). Hanya lima karya yang terpilih sahaja yang dianalisis, iaitu (1) Gurindam Dua Belas, (2) Bustan al-Katibin, (3) Kitab Pengetahuan Bahasa, (4) Thamarat al-Muhimmah, dan (5) Syair Suluh Pegawai. Daripada karyakarya itu dianalisis amanat (mesej)-nya untuk mendapati nilai budi pekerti yang dikandungnya. Kajian ini mendapati sepuluh nilai budi pekerti di dalam karya-karya Raja Ali Haji. Nilai-nilai itu meliputi (1) nilai ketuhanan (religius), (2) nilai kejujuran, (3) nilai toleransi, (4) nilai kepatuhan (disiplin), (5) nilai kerja keras, (6) nilai kreatif, (7) nilai demokratis, (8) nilai cinta tanah air, (9) nilai menghargai prestasi, dan (10) nilai peduli sosial. Kesimpulannya karya-karya Raja Ali Haji boleh dijadikan rujukan bagi pengembangan pendidikan budi pekerti, sama ada di rumah tangga, sekolahsekolah, dan di dalam masyarakat.
This study was conducted to analyze the moral values as contained in the works of Raja Ali Haji (1808-1873). Accordingly, the moral values that were analyze limited to ten value only between eighteen value presented by the National Research and Development, Ministry of National Education, Republic of Indonesia (2010). Only five works selected were analyzed, which are (1) Gurindam Dua Belas, (2) Bustan al-Katibin, (3) Kitab Pengetahuan Bahasa, (4) Thamarat alMuhimmah, dan (5) Syair Suluh Pegawai. From those works, the analysis of mandate (its message) was to find the moral values contained in it. The study found ten moral values in the works of Raja Ali Haji. These values include (1) the divine (religious), (2) the value of honesty, (3) the value of tolerance, (4) the compliance (discipline), (5) the value of hard work, (6) the creative (7 ) democratic values, (8) the love of the homeland, (9) the value of the performance, and (10) the value of social care. In conclusion the works of Raja Ali Haji can be used as a reference for the development of moral education, whether at home, school, and in society.
