Abstract

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) has influenced the delivery strategy of educators through the application of ICT in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Past studies show developments related to the use of ICT in mathematics education. Therefore, this study was carried out to examine the effect of the use of ICT in the teaching and learning of mathematics using systematic literature review (SLR). Findings from the analysis of selected literature studies found that the use of ICT has a significant positive impact on students’ mathematical learning, especially in the domain of students' cognitive and emotional development. Further research can be conducted by investigating the impact of the use of ICT on the development of student behavior in mathematics’ teaching and learning activities. Several features and advantages of the application of ICT in the teaching and learning of mathematics have also been identified based on their use from cognitive, physical and management ergonomic aspects.
