Ethnographic Elements in the Novel Kurunjithen

Abstract

குறிஞ்சித்தேன் புதினத்தில் வெளிப்படும் இனவரைவியல் கூறுகளை நுணுகி ஆராய்வதே இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கமாக அமைகின்றது. புதினத்தில் காணப்படும் படகா் இனமக்கள் பற்றிய இனவரைவியல் கூறுகளை வகைப்படுத்தித் தரவுகளின் அடிப்படையில் தொகுத்தும் பகுத்தும் ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்ளப்படுவதால் பகுப்பாய்வு அணுகுமுறை, விளக்கமுறை அணுகுமுறை, சமூகவியல் அணுகுமுறை, வரலாற்றுமுறை, இனவரைவியல் அணுகுமுறை ஆகிய அணுகுமுறைகள் பின்பற்றப்பட்டுள்ளன. படக இனம் குறித்தான குறிஞ்சித்தேன் புதினம் பற்றிய ஆய்வுகளில் இனவரைவியல் நோக்கில் இதுவே முதல் ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரையாக அமைகிறது. மக்களினத்தின் வரலாறுகளை அறிந்து கொள்ள முக்கிய ஆவணமாக அமைவன இலக்கியங்கள் எனலாம். பண்டைய இலக்கியங்கள் யாவும் செய்யுள் வடிவில் அமைந்திருந்தன. மேலைநாட்டினாின் வருகைக்குப்பின், குறிப்பாக 18 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டுக்குப்பின் தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களில் மரபு வழியாக இருந்த யாப்பு முறைகள் மாற்றம் பெற்றுச் சிறுகதை, புதினம், நாடகம் போன்ற இலக்கியங்கள் தோற்றம் பெற்றன. இவற்றில் சிறுகதையும் புதினமும் கற்பனையாகப் புனையப்படுவன. இவை கற்பனையாகப் படைக்கப் பெற்றாலும் மக்களின் வாழ்வை மையப்படுத்தி அமைவன. அந்த வகையில் குறிப்பிட்ட இனத்தின் வாழ்வியலைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும் புதினமாக அமைந்த குறிஞ்சித்தேன் புதினத்தில் இனவரைவியல் கூறுகளைக் கொண்டு ஆய்வு மேற்கொள்வதன் மூலம் படகா் இனமக்களின் புவிச்சூழல், காலச்சூழல், மரபுவழிப்பட்ட பண்பாட்டு மாற்றங்கள், தற்காலத்திய சிக்கல்கள் எனப் படக இனமக்களின் வாழ்வியலானது அனைத்து நிலைகளிலும் எவ்வாறு உள்ளது என்பதைக் கண்டறிந்து ஆய்வு முடிவாகச் சமுதாயத்திற்கு எடுத்துக்காட்ட இயலும்.

The purpose of this article is to explore the ethnographic elements that emerge in the novel. Analytical approach, descriptive approach, sociological approach, historical approach and ethnographic approach have been adopted as the ethnographic elements of the boat species found in the novel are classified and analyzed on the basis of data. This is the first research paper on the ethnographic perspective of Kurunjithen novel on boat race. Established literature is an important document to know the history of the people. All the ancient literatures were in verse form. After the arrival of the upcountry, especially after the 18th century, the traditional methods of consecration in Tamil literature changed and short stories, novels and plays emerged. Of these, the short story and the novel are fictional. Although these are imaginary, they focus on the life of the creature. In that sense, Kurunjithen's novel, which is a novel that reflects the life of a particular species, explores the ethnographic elements and explores the geographical, climatic, hereditary cultural changes and contemporary issues of the boat races, as well as presents to the community the end result of the study.
