Influence of Sahih al-Bukhari in Muslim Community in Malaysia:An Analysis on Aspects of Its Teaching,Writing and Translation

Abstract

This article discusses the development of the teaching, writing and translation of Sahih al-Bukhari in Malaysia. From the aspect of teaching, the focus is on the development of teaching of Sahih al-Bukhari in religious schools, madrasah, mosques, public education institutions and also in universities. From the aspect of writing and translating, the focus is on the jawi books written about Sahih al-Bukhari and on today’s research in the form of dissertations and theses produced at the tertiary level. This research proved that there is a lot of development in the process of teaching, writing and translating the Sahih al-Bukhari in Malaysia since the 20th century up to the present.
