The state of psychological well-being is worrisome to the society. Many incidences and tragic cases indicate that the society is having disturbance in psychological wellbeing. This situation influences the feeling of grief to the individual as well as family members. The objectives of the study are (i) to explore the synopsis and scenario of the study cases involving psychological well-being (ii) to analyze the types of grieving cases, (iii) to explicate the effects of grieving to family members of victims. The methodology used in the study is qualitative analysis (document analysis) based on newspaper reports on the four case studies. Purpose sampling was utilized, and samples were from from Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Kelantan. The data was analyzed using content analysis. The results from synopsis of events showed that there exist a scenario of cause and effect in psychological wellbeing towards individuals and family members of the victims. Also, there were two types of grieving identified in the study; two cases of normal grieving and two complicated cases that influenced the physical and psychological well-being of the family members of the victims. Findings of this study support the Cyclical Grief Theory, and can be of guide to researchers on psychological well-being. The findings can also be a guide to institutions such as the Ministry of Women Development, Family and Society and the Ministry of Health to devise modules for a well-being programme.
