Silence Behavior among Malaysian Employees in German Organizations: A Pilot Study

Difficulties to convey information by local employees particularly in organizations led by foreigners frequently arise. Among the problems that had been discussed by previous researchers were employee silence behaviour and silence attitude. This article discusses about the analysis of the concept of employee silence behaviour as well as developing research instruments on silence tendency. The focus of this research is to examine the silence tendency among Malaysian employees who are working in German organizations. German organizations in Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam were selected based on the highest density distribution of German organizations in Malaysia. Pre-test had been done and this paper is to report the result of reliability test by taking Cronbach alpha value 7.0 and above and subsequently it was chosen to be used in the actual survey.
