Methods of Preposing the Predicate before the Subject in the Poetry of ‘Īsā Al-Bī Abī Bakr

Abstract

تناولت هذه الدراسة أساليب تقديم الخبر على المبتدأ في شعر عيسى ألبي الإلوري، لأن الأساليب التقديم والتأخير هو أحد الأساليب البلاغية المميزة في اللغة العربية، ويقصد به مخالفة عناصر التركيب الترتيب الأصلي لها في السياق، فيتقدم ماكان أصله أن يتأخر ويتأخر ما الأصل فيه أن يتقدم، ويعتبر هذا الأسلوب وسيلة فعّالة لتعزيز جمال التعبير وقوة المعنى، ومن المعلوم، أن الشاعر عيسى ألبي له اطلاع على المذاهب النّحويّة في هذه الأسلوب، وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أساليب تقديم الخبر على المبتدأ الواردة في بعض قصائده، وبيان اهتمام أفكار النحاة السابقين  على هذه الأساليب، ويعد الشاعر عيسى ألبي أديبًا وشاعرًا مفلقًا في ربوع أرض نيجيريا وفي خارجها.

This study addresses the methods of placing the predicate before the subject in the poetry of ‘Īsā Al-Bī Al-Ilūrī. The stylistic technique of inversion (taqdīm wa taʾkhīr – advancing and delaying) is one of the distinctive rhetorical devices in the Arabic language. It involves altering the usual order of sentence elements—bringing forward what is typically delayed and delaying what is usually brought forward. This method is considered an effective means to enhance the beauty of expression and the strength of meaning. It is known that the poet ‘Īsā Al-Bī had deep knowledge of grammatical schools of thought related to this technique. The aim of this study is to analyze the methods of advancing the predicate before the subject as found in some of his poems and to highlight the interest shown by earlier grammarians in these structures. The poet ‘Īsā Al-Bī is considered a prominent literary figure and poet in Nigeria and beyond.
