Abstract

The integration of technology in teaching and learning (T & L) Malay Literature plays an important role and is in line with recent educational developments. According to the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025, there is a need for improving technological infrastructures in education as a preparation for producing human capital with enhanced IT literacy. However, the country is faced with serious challenges in providing quality education system. It is found that the technological applications such as blog, creative animation, audio and interactive games has made the teaching and learning of Malay Literature not only efficient but attractive. In addition, the animation application was also found to attract students to keep abreast of teaching and learning activities in the classroom. This is because the animation is a set of fast graphical display in the form of series (frame) or an object. It is not an exaggeration to say that teaching and learning of Malay literature using technology is capable of transforming static text from the books to a more engaging learning material. The importance of audio application in teaching and learning can also be an exciting experience to students as it provides clarity and overview of the learned content. Interactive games are appropriate for answering quiz questions in Malay Literature. Indirectly, this kind of interactive games can attract students to answer questions that have been provided compared with the old method of copying the questions and answering it manually (paper and pencil format). The teacher trainees implemented technological transformation in their teaching and learning practices and found to have positive learning impact on the students. This reflects the confidence and success of the teacher trainee which meets the expectation of the supervised teaching practices.
