This research was conducted with the purpose of researching the perception of members of Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) with regards to the selection of a career after retiring in education field. This research aims to establish the level of interest among the respondents in selecting the profession of an educator as a second career. The research used a quantitative method of surveys and questionnaires involving 297 ATM personnel from various ranks who were undergoing the “Transitionary Training Program for Session 2015/2016” at the “Military Veterans Affair Corporation” (PERHEBAT), Sungai Buloh, Selangor. The results of the research indicated that 239 respondents (80.4%) had an affinity to select the career of an educator as their second career. Thus it is hope that the research results will be able to contribute strong empirical data to the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) in considering former military personnel as candidate for education institutions supervised by MoE. Additionally, PERHEBAT will be able to enhance the transitionary program aligned to the request of the ATM personnel.
