Many students who have little or no working experience find economic order quantity (EOQ) as a challenging concept to grasp. This article discusses a new technique, named O-Pizza, in teaching EOQ to facilitate students’ understanding of that topic. This technique explains all the concepts related to EOQ through the analogy of pizza ordering, as this analogy is more familiar to the students. To test the effectiveness of O-Pizza technique, we conducted a posttest only quasi experimental research. The participants are divided into two groups, whereby the treatment group were taught using the O-Pizza technique while the control group were taught using the usual technique. Mann-Whitney U Test was run to compare the examination marks obtained by the participants, specifically for the question related to EOQ. The results show that the mean score of the treatment group was higher than the control group. This indicates the ability of the O-Pizza module in improving students’ understanding of EOQ. Hence, the application of this module could be further extended to other institutions.
