Due to anthropogenic influence and natural factors, land developments are often regarded as major contributors to the degradation of environmental quality. Stabilising slopes and construction of sediment ponds are some steps in the main processes of erosion and sedimentation control to reduce the environment impacts. The UPSI new campus site is experiencing this problem and some action has been taken to control soil erosion. Measurements and observations in the field have been conducted to identify the effectiveness of the control measures. It is done by mounting erosion pins on one of the slopes (K-Slope), which was purposely not made according to specification and followed by measurement of sediment deposition rate in one of the ponds (Pond 4)using sediment trap. In just seven days and with a total rainfall of 106.4 mm in November 2011, the total eroded soil measured using pins mounted on the Slope K is 6.3 cm. The storms brought down soil from K-Slope K into the pond through rock swales and earth drains and has cause deposition of 4 cm sediment in Pond 4. In this study, sediment control measures of sediment retention ponds and drainage is effective in trapping sediment
