This article discusses a study of mapping the lake water quality for recreational activities at the Lake Gardens in Taiping, Perak. A study done on the water quality of a lake to determine whether it is appropriate to use for leisure activities. The assessment of water quality parameters were made in-situ was pH and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) were measured using YSI 556 multi-parameter probe. The physico-chemical parameters such as Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Suspended Solids (SS) and ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N) were conducted in the laboratory in accordance with the Interim National Water Quality Standards for Malaysia (INWQS) to obtain the Water Quality Index (WQI). The mapping only involved spatial analysis of concentration of selected water quality parameters through interpolation method. The results showed that the WQI of the lake is at good level of Class I and Class II.
