Abstract

Sepanjang pandemik Covid-19, Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) memberi kesan kepada pusat pendidik awal kanak-kanak. Pada tempoh PKP kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran secara dalam talian telah dilaksanakan bagi memastikan kanak-kanak dapat mengikuti dan melakukan aktiviti PdP mereka semasa di rumah. Pendidik juga menggunakan beberapa aplikasi dalam talian sebagai kaedah PdP bagi menggantikan kaedah PdP secara bersemuka. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengkaji tahap penggunaan aplikasi dalam talian yang digunakan oleh pendidik awal kanak-kanak sebagai kaedah PdP dalam tempoh PKP. Reka bentuk kajian tinjaun dilakukan yang melibatkan 74 responden yang terdiri daripada pendidik awal kanak-kanak di sekitar negeri Johor. Borang soal selidik digunakan sebagai instrumen kajian bagi mengkaji dan mengukur tahap penggnaan aplikasi dalam talian oleh responden. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis secara deskriptif statistik menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) versi 23 untuk mendapatkan taburan kekerapan, peratusan dan min. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap penggunaan aplikasi dalam talian oleh pendidik awal kanak-kanak berada pada tahap yang memuaskan, terutamanya dalam menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp sebagai kaedah penyampaian PdP yang efektif dalam tempoh pelaksanaan PKP.

The pandemic of Covid-19 has caused the implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO) which affected early childhood education centers. During the MCO period, teaching and learning method is changed to online learning to ensure that children could adhere to and do their TnL activities while at home. Educators also use some online applications as PdP methods to replace PdP methods face to face. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of online applications used by early childhood educators as a method of TnL during the MCO period. The research design of the study is survey which was involving 74 respondents consisting of early childhood educators around the state of Johor. Questionnaire was used as a research instrument of the study and to measure the level of online application used by respondents. The data obtained were analyzed statistically descriptive using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 software to obtain the distribution of frequency, percentage and mean. The findings show that the level of use of online applications by early childhood educators is at a satisfactory level, especially in using the WhatsApp application as an effective TnL delivery method during the implementation of MCO.
