Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara amalan penjagaan diri dengan stres dalam kalangan kaunselor pelatih di empat buah Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam (IPTA) di Malaysia. Pendekatan kuantitatif melalui kajian korelasi digunakan bagi mengukur hubungan amalan penjagaan diri dengan stres dalam kalangan kaunselor pelatih. Seramai 135 orang kaunselor pelatih di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda yang telah atau sedang menjalani latihan Praktikum dan Internship Kaunseling telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian. Self-Care Practices Survey (SCPS) (2011) dan Inventori Stres Pelajar (ISP, 2020) digunakan sebagai instrumen kajian. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensi. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap stres dalam kalangan kaunselor pelatih adalah sederhana. Antara amalan penjagaan diri, aspek rohani merupakan yang tertinggi diamalkan dengan min 4.16, manakala aspek fizikal adalah yang paling kurang diamalkan dengan min 3.56. Kajian turut mendapati bahawa tiada perbezaan penjagaan diri kaunselor pelatih berdasarkan jantina (t=0.973 dan sig=0.332 (p>0.05)) mahupun lokasi praktikum/ internship (F=2.034 dan sig=0.135 (p>0.05)). Dapatan juga menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan rendah (nilai r=-0.218 dan p=0.011) di antara amalan penjagaan diri dengan stres dalam kalangan kaunselor pelatih. Secara keseluruhannya, hasil kajian ini memberikan sumbangan penting dalam pemahaman dan pengaplikasian amalan penjagaan diri untuk menguruskan stres sekaligus meningkatkan profesionalisme dalam diri kaunselor pelatih sebagai bakal kaunselor kelak.
