Kajian ini bertujuan membuat analisis tentang penggunaan kronemiks atau masa dalam majlis perkahwinan masyarakat Melayu di negeri Perak. Majlis perkahwinan dalam masyarakat Melayu merupakan satu acara yang menyatukan dua individu lelaki dan perempuan secara sah menurut hukum Islam. Di dalam majlis ini terkandung elemen utama, iaitu masa yang penting dalam menentukan perjalanan majlis berkenaan agar sempurna. Masa menjadi elemen yang penting kerana penentuan perjalanan dan kesempurnaan majlis perkahwinan adalah antaranya tertakluk kepada penetapan masa-masa yang ditetapkan berdasarkan keperluan adat. Dengan mengambil pendekatan kualitatif dan reka bentuk etnografi, penyelidik mengambil masa selama empat bulan dengan berada bersama-sama dalam sepuluh buah majlis perkahwinan. Dilengkapi dengan catatan lapangan, kamera video, kamera DSLR, temu bual dengan tetamu, tuan rumah dan 15 orang informan terpilih yang memiliki pengalaman dalam menguruskan majlis perkahwinan, penyelidik melengkapkan analisis terhadap penggunaan masa dalam majlis perkahwinan Melayu ini. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan masa adalah elemen penting yang menentukan persiapan dan perjalanan majlis serta keterbukaan masyarakat terhadap faktor masa dalam mementingkan hubungan. Implikasi daripada kajian ini ialah masyarakat Melayu merupakan sebuah masyarakat yang mengambil kira pelbagai faktor untuk menentukan sesebuah acara perkahwinan berlangsung dengan baik dan dalam masa yang sama masih dapat memelihara keharmonian masyarakat dengan tolak ansur yang tinggi.
