Abstract

The use of gadgets among children is increasing when teaching and learning are online. This study aimed to identify the impact of gadget use on children during learning in the new norm. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research instrument used is a questionnaire and distributed through the google form application. The sample involved in this study was a total of 70 preschool teachers. The data of this study were analyzed descriptively based on frequency and percentage. The findings showed that teachers who agreed were 93% (n = 65). gadgets make it easier for children to get information. The effect of gadget use showed that 94% (n = 66) of teachers agreed that used gadget over a long period cause vision problems. Children who are too obsessed with gadgets can cause unhealthy lifestyles. In conclusion, the gadgets used by children should be controlled so that they don't use them in the long term. The implications of this study can provide exposure to educators in implementing teaching and learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
