Kepentingan Pendidikan Seksual dalam Guru Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak di Sabah

Pendidikan seksual perlu diperkenalkan di peringkat awal bagi menjamin kesejahteraan kanak-kanak dan memberi pendedahan kepada mereka tentang cara menjaga keselamatan dalam membantu kanak-kanak memahami konsep asas seperti keselamatan diri, kebersihan diri, dan batasan tubuh. Oleh itu kajian ini bertujuan untuk meneroka kepentingan pendidikan seksual dalam pendidikan awal kanak-kanak. Responden kajian terdiri daripada enam orang guru prasekolah yang berkhidmat lebih daripada lima tahun di sebuah daerah di Sabah. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan soalan temu bual separa struktur. Data dianalisis secara manual berdasarkan tema. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa pendidikan seksual memainkan peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kesedaran kanak-kanak terhadap keselamatan diri, mengurangkan risiko penderaan seksual, dan membina keyakinan diri mereka. Pendidikan ini juga membantu menyediakan kanak-kanak menghadapi perubahan fizikal dan emosi pada masa akan datang. Oleh itu, kajian ini memberi impak yang sangat besar terhadap perlunya pendidikan seksual ini diketengahkan dengan lebih mendalam di peringkat awal untuk memberikan asas kukuh kepada kanak-kanak dalam usaha membantu perkembangan psikososial mereka dan menyeru kepada sokongan yang lebih kukuh daripada pihak ibu bapa dan masyarakat.
