Hubungan antara tahap kualiti tidur dengan pencapaian akademik dalam kalangan pelajar sarjana muda pendidikan bimbingan dan kaunseling di Malaysia

Kualiti tidur merupakan antara aspek penting dalam pencapaian akademik pelajar universiti, namun kurang kajian meneliti aspek ini terutamanya dalam kalangan pelajar yang mengikuti program Sarjana Muda Pendidikan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling (ISMPBK). Oleh itu, kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengkaji tahap kualiti tidur dan tahap pencapaian akademik, hubungan antara tahap kualiti tidur dengan pencapaian akademik dalam kalangan pelajar ISMPBK di Malaysia, serta hubungan antara komponen tempoh tidur dan kependaman tidur dengan pencapaian akademik. Seramai 260 orang pelajar Bimbingan dan Kaunseling dengan Pendidikan daripada 4 buah universiti yang menawarkan program SMPBK terlibat dalam kajian tinjauan ini. Maklumat dan data diperoleh melalui Instrumen Indeks Kualiti Tidur Pitssburgh versi Bahasa Malaysia (PSQI-M) bagi tahap kualiti tidur dan purata nilai gred kumulatif (PNGK) bagi pencapaian akademik. Analisis statistik deskriptif, perbandingan dan inferensi iaitu korelasi Spearman digunakan. Kajian ini mendapati tahap kualiti tidur pelajar adalah kurang baik, namun tahap pencapaian akademik pelajar berada pada tahap yang baik. Dapatan kajian turut menunjukkan terdapat hubungan korelasi negatif sederhana yang signifikan antara tahap kualiti tidur dan juga tempoh tidur dengan pencapaian akademik dalam kalangan pelajar Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pendidikan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling di Malaysia. Sebaliknya, kajian ini mendapati terdapat hubungan korelasi negatif yang lemah antara kependaman tidur dengan pencapaian akademik dalam kalangan pelajar SMPBK. Oleh itu, kajian dan tindakan lanjut berkaitan tidur dan pencapaian akademik pelajar SMPBK boleh diteliti dengan lebih mendalam pada masa akan datang.
