Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kesahan kandungan Modul Kecerdasan Emosi yang digunakan sebagai latihan psikopendidikan pegawai tentera.  Asas kerangka modul ini adalah berlandaskan prinsip-prinsip Teori Pemusatan Insan (TPI) oleh Carl Rogers (1959) bagi meningkatkan tahap kecerdasan emosi dalam diri individu dan seterusnya memberi kesan positif terhadap kepuasan kerja dan komitmen terhadap organisasi. Kajian deskriptif ini berasaskan kepada pembinaan modul oleh Sidek dan Jamaluddin (2005) yang mempunyai dua fasa kajian. Fasa pertama dijalankan bagi mengubahsuai modul kecerdasan emosi berdasarkan aktiviti yang diutarakan oleh Lynn (2002) berdasarkan kajian perpustakaan dan pandangan pakar.  Aktiviti yang digariskan oleh Lynn bertujuan untuk meningkatkan tahap kecerdasan emosi dalam kalangan pekerja.  Melalui perbincangan bersama pakar, modul ini diubahsuai dengan mengambil kira faktor silang budaya untuk memenuhi keperluan kumpulan sasaran. Fasa kedua pula dijalankan untuk memperoleh kesahan modul secara keseluruhan dan kesahan sub modul.  Seramai 8 orang pakar psikologi dan kaunseling daripada universiti tempatan dan kaunselor tentera telah memberikan penilaian bagi tujuan penambahbaikan modul tersebut.  Dapatan fasa pertama menghasilkan sepuluh sesi kelompok Psikopendidikan dalam Modul Kecerdasan Emosi, manakala dapatan fasa kedua pula menunjukkan nilai kesahan kandungan modul adalah 75.3 dan kesahan sub modul turut menunjukkan nilai kesahan yang tinggi iaitu antara 71.2 hingga 81.3. Nilai kebolehpercayaan modul juga tinggi mencapai 0.831. Maklum balas yang positif turut diperoleh dari aspek kandungan, sesi dan aktiviti.  Implikasi modul ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh kaunselor tentera dan Cawangan Psikologi di Kementerian Pertahanan untuk mengurangkan konflik berkaitan emosi dalam persekitaran kerja.

Vijayasree Raghavan Pillai is an education army officer at Academic Faculty in Lumut Perak. Received her Masters in Education, University Malaya in 1998 and now is pursuing her doctorate studies at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. Married to an army officer and has two children. Vijayasree is active in giving lectures and workshops to army officers.
