Abstract

This study aims to develop and obtain the validity and usability of The Isometric Trio Kit, a teaching aid (BBM) in teaching and facilitation (PdPc) for the Form Two Translation topic. The design of this study is referred to as the Design and Development Research (DDR). It only involves the first two phases, namely the Analysis Phase and the Design and Development Phase which apply to the use of the ADDIE model. The kit’s validation process is performed by five experts, namely four Mathematics lecturers in a public university and one mathematics teacher in a secondary school to evaluate the kit. Next, using the simple random sampling, 30 trainee mathematics teachers from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) were chosen to determine the usability of the kit by completing the kit’s usability questionnaires. Feedback from experts was analyzed using the Content Validity Index (CVI), while the usability of the kit was determined through the mean score value. The analysis results showed that the CVI value for the RPH content validity, the face and kit content validity were 1.00, which is satisfactory. The analysis results also show that the developed kit has a high level of usability with a mean score of 3.71. As a conclusion, the RPH and the kit are feasible and can be referenced and used to meet the learning standards and align with the Form Two Translation topic. This study provides new ideas, guidance, and information to teachers, particularly mathematics teachers in order for them to use the teaching aid in the classroom.
