Call for Submissions

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 

VOLUME 9, 2020

Deadline for submission:  June 30, 2020.

The Malaysian Journal of Music (MJM), previously known as the Malaysian Music Journal (MMJ) (2012-2017), is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal that highlights music research and scholarship. It is a forum for music scholars to critically discuss issues related to music. Whilst the journal is based in Malaysia, articles from any region with theoretically robust and empirically engaging content are welcomed.  The Malaysian Journal of Music is calling for submission of articles (Volume 9, 2020) focusing on music or interdisciplinary issues in music. Articles that discuss and critique issues in music education, ethnomusicology, musicology, popular music, music composition, music performance, music therapy, music business, music industry, music psychology, music theory, electronic music, electroacoustic music and physics of sound are welcomed.


Submission Requirements
Submission of an article to the Malaysian Journal of Music is held to imply that it represents an original contribution not previously published, and that it is not being considered elsewhere. All submissions must conform to our published guidelines. A flexibility of presentation mode may be accepted for practice-led and based research articles, notwithstanding an imperative of strong academic writing standards. Articles may be submitted in either English or Bahasa Melayu. Articles written in Bahasa Melayu must have an English abstract.

 The deadline for submission for Volume 9 is June 30, 2020.  Articles submitted after this deadline will only be processed in 2021.
