Leadership in Novel Component Literature in Malay Language Subject (KOMSAS)

Abstract

Novel Komponen Sastera dalam Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Melayu (KOMSAS) mula diperkenalkan pada tahun 2000. Ini bermakna, pelajar dari tingkatan satu sehingga tingkatan lima wajib mempelajari novel sama ada aliran sains mahupun sastera. Dalam kajian ini beberapa buah novel menjadi pilihan. Pelbagai elemen positif cuba diterapkan dalam novel-novel tersebut, antaranya tentang kepimpinan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa dalam novel-novel kajian ada elemen kepimpinan yang bermula daripada peringkat yang paling asas sehinggalah kepada peringkat tertinggi seperti kepimpinan dalam keluarga, kepimpinan remaja, kepimpinan guru dan seterusnya kepimpinan kampung dan daerah. Kepimpinan tersebut penting kepada golongan pelajar yang bakal mewarisi kepimpinan negara. Mereka harus mengerti bahawa setiap kepimpinan daripada peringkat bawah sehingga ke peringkat atas mempunyai fungsi dan peranan masing-masing dan penting dalam pembentukan negara yang harmoni.

Novel Component Literature in Malay Language Subject (KOMSAS) was first introduced in 2000. This means that students from form one to form five must learn novel either they are from science or art stream. In this study, a few novels were selected. Various positive elements were tried to be expressed in these novels, including about leadership. The results showed that the selected novels consisted about leadership from the most basic to the highest level, such as the leadership in the family, youth leadership, teacher leadership, and subsequently leadership at village and district levels. The leadership was important to the students who will inherit the leadership of the country. They should understand that every leadership from the ground level up to the upper level has functions and roles, and essential for the formation of a harmonious nation.
