Abstract

his study was carried out to investigate the readiness levels of science and mathematics Year 3 teachers in implementing the Primary School Curriculum Standard (KSSR) in aspects of knowledge, skills, interests and attitudes. Also the relationship between the teachers readiness and their teaching experience was investigated. The participants of this study were 256 science and mathematics teachers in Seremban and were chosen using stratified random sampling. The instrument of this study was a set of questionare. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency, mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics of Pearson Correlation. The findings indicated that the readiness level of science and mathematics teachers was at medium level in the aspects of knowledge and skills and at high level in aspects of interest and attitudes. There was a significant relationship between both knowledge and interest with teaching experience.
